Toy-YotaParticipant
You’ve done your research, I think that makes sense. Especially if you’re going to vary your tire sizes between seasons. The strength of pinion and ring gear is always a factor too especially with 35s and a v8.
If you were going to be towing at all and running 35s constantly I would probably push to go for 4.88, but unloaded you want to be around 2k rpm at 100km/h
I have 4.88s with a 22re and 35 Mtrs for the street and 36″ Swamper TSLs for wheeling. I have yet to use it on the street so I dont know yet, interested in 5.29s still
Toy-YotaParticipantWithout tearing everything apart I found the front bumper with one signal missing, and the trim I found looked like it was mostly for the interior peices of the removable top.
Toy-YotaParticipantNo progress on the truck but I added a sketchy lean-to on my parts shed out random wood I had laying around the shop. Now all my tires and axles will be covered at least. Once my Bobcat comes back home after the winter I’ll probably put my two parts engines in there too.
As you can: Evans’s Automotive and Off-road is a state of the art facility!
Toy-YotaParticipantWell I got the rear axle together and back in. Was waiting on rear inner axles seals but decided to just put it together anyway. It’s easy enough to do them once they come in. At least now I can move it around into the shop
Other news: my dad smashed up the bed on my work truck so I think I’m going to flat bed it which takes time away from my Runner. Found a flatbed 7.3 in Sudbury that’s the same colour scheme as my truck, so I may swap the beds and then sell it again. Also here’s the rear bumper and swing out I decided on. I already had the side peices bent up, and I have most of the steel for the bumper. And I already bought the hinge from princess auto.

Toy-YotaParticipantLove those rims! Awesome build really excited to see how it goes. I dont know much about the V8s but will 4.56 and 35s keep you in a good spot on the street?
Toy-YotaParticipantCool! I’m usually pretty flexible, message me your number! I’m building an extension on my parts shed tomorrow so maybe I’ll go through and send you some pictures of what you may want!
Toy-YotaParticipantI’m in North burlington/waterdown.
I don’t have the under bumper trim peice or a fender (LOL you’ll never one of those)
I do have a decent chrome front bumper. I’m pretty sure I have a couple of those trim peices as well. Any interior trim peices I have are brown. Hopefully between Finn and I we can get what you need. If you’re close by you’re more than welcome to tear apart my shed

Toy-YotaParticipantCool! How do you like the tent so far?
Toy-YotaParticipantThat looks like a beautiful first gen. love the red.
Toy-YotaParticipantWhere did you see that hilux in west Lincoln?
side note: I’ve always wanted to build a table or something out of one of the hilux tailgates
Toy-YotaParticipantSooo, got some parts from Rockauto and as I started reassembling everything I realized my wheel bearings have quite a bit of play. They looked decent and I made the mistake of not checking them well when I disassembled everything. Does anyone know of a good place to get them? Rock auto has decent ones for 130 shipped for both, at Napa I think the KOYO ones are 78 each. Kinda bummed I really I wasn’t expecting to have to do them.
Toy-YotaParticipantGot any more pics!?
Toy-YotaParticipantNice man, did you get the RTT from north shore off-road?
Must be fun working on a brand new truck, I liked the black accent on the tailgate and the flood lights in the front bumper.
Toy-YotaParticipantLooking good @advancefab! What years? Did you rebuild the whole frame on the first gen or just the back?
Toy-YotaParticipantSweet! Diesel or gas?
