Nice! Those are big strides especially if the motor can still in its home.

Thanks man, it was pretty exciting indeed. Definitely never thought we’d move but so glad we did. We’ll be finishing our last barge job this week moving 6 tons of flooring to an island job. We’ve been tearing out the old flooring the last two weeks. So I’ll just do some construction labor over the winter. Once the ice sets in we’ll head over on sleds.
The cottage was built in 1901 on Brackens island on Lake Rosseau. I’ll post a few more pics of this season while I’m here.

Many many life changes lately, I sold the Tacoma and bought a 2012. I just sold my Superduty too. We have moved to Bracebridge and we’re selling the landscape business at home. I’m working For some friends up here running a Barge. It’s been pretty awesome so far. Some pics.

I wanted an e-locker and still would probably do one if I came across a deal but the truck is also for sale. A lot of my friends are selling their trucks and we seem to be atving more now. So I’m weighing my options. So much to think about
    1) I have to replace my Ford with something newer, probably sooner than later. And that is big $$$
    2) I like having a personal third vehicle for wheeling and running around.
    3) I’ve thought about selling my Tacoma and getting a newer Tacoma/4runner, Gladiator, or a bronco. But it’s convenient for us to have a car that’s cheap on fuel.
    4) I really don’t like having a car payment. I’ve gone my whole life paying cash for all of our vehicles.
    5) do I sell my Tacoma and just get a cheaper running around truck that I can still wheel a bit when I want to?

As for a shop update: My brother just bought a new toy which is a lot of fun, and I just finished this 4×6 trailer. It’s for moving my atv but I can also unhook it and haul it back to camp with my atv which is cool. It’s pretty light.

Yeah definitely cool to see the owner using it. I always wanted to build it into something more capable than it was so I’m happy To see that.
With that said I do miss the capability a lot, even though we’re doing less and less actual crawling and my friends selling their built trucks and buggies.
The cruiser was a good in between for me. I think basically I just need something lifted and has lockers. The open diffs in the tacoma don’t work well enough for what i intend to use it for, especially with the trailer.

Things may be changing around with my business and so I’m always Thinking of what the ideal vehicle is for me, seems like it changes as time goes on and probably will continue to.

That’s a big nut to be flopping around in that case and no catch on anything. Count your blessings!

Nice job! A date stamp on the video is good to have when selling a motor, that way they know when it was pulled and running.

Full speed on a blower in deep snow is no fun at all

I can’t wait for your to get ready running. And I’m excited To hear about the wiring part of the build that always seems the most daunting to me.

Once I’m done Work for the season and back from vacay I’ll shoot up to your place with some beer and grab those parts from you!

Yeah we’ll see how it goes, no real bites on it yet I’m asking Too much money.

Sounds like a pop up toy hauler is in your future. Like a fleetwood evo or jayco baja. They have a lot of tongue weight though, that can be an issue when your tow vehicle is a tacoma though.

Rust gets the best of everything no doubt. When I swapped mine, I removed the 4 bolts on the bottom hall joint, the one bolt on the bottom of the strut, and lifted the whole assembly out of the way to pull out the CV.

Thanks for the effort! Donor is the best way no doubt, you’ll have everything you need and things that may be hard to source otherwise especially for a 3rz

Seems like I have all the fueling issues sorted out. I swapped the rad and put the pink coolant in, someone told me long ago that Toyotas like the red stuff so that’s what I always use.

I’ve had a constant small issues with this truck to be honest, on the way home from the last trip the exhaust cracked and then totally broke in two. Nothing too major though, I’ll weld it back together and eventually redo the exhaust because the previous owner was a crap welder and cobbled it all together.

All part of the fun I guess, it tours well. The extended cab works well for us because our clothes and stuff goes in the cab and the rest of our stuff in the cap. It works well to have a pickup to be honest. The truck itself is definitely not as capable as the landcruiser or my 4runner. I need a rear locker in this thing. As much as we do more touring, I want it to be able to work in the rocks when I want it to. And I find with a rear locker I don’t put it in 4wd on many of the trails we run until I need it.

Some pics from my wife and I this last weekend.
