Nice! I’d call you if that mini-ex was bigger.

I have to re-do a 60′ x 5′ retaining wall in my back yard eventually… I want to dig back about 15′ into the hill and rebuild the wall using “Rosetta Stone” cast boulders. The material I dig will be put up onto the hill, so I don’t have to pay to haul it away.

I really gotta get into the garage to organize my tools.

I spent 20′ looking for a torque wrench to lend to my neighbour…

Over the winter, I tend to put things away quickly and not in the right place because it’s f-ing cold and I just want to get in the house to warm up! I’m paying for that now…

Glad to hear you got the air leak taken care of. Sucks about the ATF leak – sounds like a time consuming repair…

My Z1000 was a naked streetfighter. As fun as it was, when riding today at -2, it was nice to have the farings blocking the majority of the wind. I took Melissa’s 400 Ninja for a boot today as well, not nearly as much wind blockage… The Ninja isn’t naked – at least it has a little fairing to duck behind when the wind gets to you…

Yeah, I think the naked thing is just a look. As much as I like the café racer look, I still haven’t taken all the fairings off the front of the Connie because I like the wind block factor.

LOL – “carbureted heavy bitch” is a term of endearment for sure. I love that bike. Have had it for 8 years and won’t sell it…

An FTR is a Flat Track Racer. Look up the Indian FTR1200. When they built the prototype, they made a promo video that really turned me on to the bike. However I would never pay $20K for a motorcycle. I’d rather build one!!

The first true crotch rocket I rode was a CBR600RR. I was really surprised at how the powerband kicked in at 7000 RPM and kept pulling until the 15000 red line… I was coming up to a red light and grabbed the front brake like I would on my Connie and nearly went over the handlebars!!! If I didn’t grab the bike with my knees, I would have wound up in the intersection with the bike waiting back at the line…

When I got the Z1000, the power was almost double the CBR. It was A LOT of fun, but way too tempting to use that power. Even though I chopped the Connie down, it’s still a carbureted heavy bitch and not quite as crazy at the Z1000 was.

As I sell off the current herd (except the Connies and M’s Ninja), I’d like to build an FTR and keep an enduro or 2 around.

Hey Tom, that’s a nice Bike for $1100. Lights, signals and ownership are a bonus.

My current XR only has a headlight and no ownership… I would like something I could plate, there’s really nowhere to ride around my house. Even though I have 10 acres of township owned bush lot in my backyard – the crochety old neighbours would be chasing me around with pitch forks and hoes – except for Mark – lol.

Idea would be I drive the truck at Ardbeg and Melissa rides the bike, instead of bouncing her head off the windows in boredom…

My 3 targets were always the KLX, DRZ, XR and XT… I tend only to look for the Japanese bikes.

I liked my KLR, but it was just way too heavy for true off road (Ardbeg was a real challenge due to the weight).
I want to get my XR200 running well enough to take up to Ardbeg to try it out, as I think 200 – 250 CC would be ideal size and weight.
I like your idea of the DRZ400, but I tend to be on the cheap side and buy basket cases for <$500 and fix them up... I've been on a Kawi kick for number of years now, so I want to try to find a KLX250. I've seen a few on Kijiji, but with an arsenal of 3 trucks and 6 bikes..... Melissa wouldn't go for another bike showing up - lol

Lucked out with that plunger for sure!
Quite the hooping on those O rings…

Nice score on the bike… I’m avoiding Kijiji (which is hard to do now that I’m not working) to avoid seeing anything that I simply MUST have.

Sucks about the second leak detected!

I thought you might turn the exhaust to come out behind the tire – this would give you a little more clearance back towards the bumper.

Before I put my high clearance (at least higher than stock) I used to drag the bumper on everything…
