Guys, I have to cancel. I broke my collar bone trail riding my dirtbike on Monday. This was less than 36-hours after I unleashed my plan to ride around Ardbeg.
Long and short, wife is suuuuper upset and cancelling this trip is digging up. At least attempting to dig up.
More importantly though, my bike survived with hardly a scratch. Buddy was able to ride it out of the woods half an hour after I walked (limped) out. Other than the broken clavicle, I’m in a great shape. Hardly even dented my will to ride.

toys-n-yotasParticipantEvan buddy, had a great time chatting up 4Runners, and brainstorming build ideas.
I had the same though to snap a pic of the first gens, but it slipped my mind by the time I retrieved my cell phone. I compared to the ’86, and at the end of the bedrail, the big truck stood a full 8″ taller!!
toys-n-yotasParticipantSam’s new/used ride to replace the dead Caravan. Almost the exact same car she sold 3-years ago to get the caravan. 5-spd hatchback.
We love getting 6.5 L/100km, a lot better than 11-13 in the caravan while commuting 130km round trip.

toys-n-yotasParticipantSold to a family in Peterborough.
The fellow who responded to the ad has been building a 1955 Range Rover using a 1983 Toyota Pickup drivetrain for the better part of a decade. Family, careers, relocations have slowed him down, but such is life. He brought the truck home Friday, has knocked out my “punch list” in about 6-hours and is looking to wheel around Bobcaygeon (20-mins from home) with his buddies.
I shared the forum with him, hope he joins soon so we can keep the saga of BigRunner going.
toys-n-yotasParticipantSold the Bigrunner, but still making the Ardbeg trip.
Planning to run the trails on my dirtbike if a buddy comes too, or perhaps ride shotgun if there’s anybody else riding solo.
toys-n-yotasParticipantEvan, can’t let you go semi-topless solo. Picture of the 1986 with the CanBack posing in my driveway

toys-n-yotasParticipantThink I spotted Jason’s Cruiser heading South out of Shelburne on 3rd line an evening this week.
I live within 60 seconds of the public storage.
toys-n-yotasParticipantMake an offer, exchange for services, parts, knowledge, and wisdom will all be considered.

toys-n-yotasParticipantGot the green light from Sam, and the Friday booked off work. Looking forward to this years trip.
toys-n-yotasParticipantI’ll be making a build thread shortly to capture the awesomeness.
Coles notes. 1986 model year, originally 4-cyl manual, but converted to Chevy 350cubes, and 3-spd auto with Advanced Adapters. Has 4.10s and air lockers front/rear.
Plan is to be a Summer beach cruiser and adventure truck. Pretty sure fuel economy will be the determining factor on just how far these adventures take me. No O/D is gonna suck (gas).
First order of business, eliminate 15-years worth of powerful mouse stank, and start the certification process.
selling the BigRunner to free up driveway space (grid locked now), free up cash, and get Sam a new/used commuter. Her Caravan is about to bite the dust.
I posted BigRunner in the trading post, and included a kijiji link. Deals to be had for forum members.

toys-n-yotasParticipantPic shows traction bar, e-locker guards, rear disk conversion, tcase e-brake, and childrens toys (can be included to sweeten the deal).
toys-n-yotasParticipantI’m not 100% sure on the brand of lift, pretty sure its got 5″ lift springs front/rear, 3″ axle block in the rear, and a rear axle “panhard” bar. I’ll put a picture up (after I take one to help explain myself). Also 3″ body lift.
Has 30-spline longfields, and 5.29 E-lockers. Lockers are relay activated with switches in the dash. Both axles have guards to protect e-locker actuators.
I’ve got a 3-ring binder full of receipts. Still digging through for lift details. If you’re really interested we can try to meet up so you can look through it all
The doubler is legit, one of my favourite features for sure. No clutch slipping, no stalling, just point and shoot. First truck I’ve ever had with REALLY low gears.
truck is built super well by former SONTT member….just a shame I don’t get to use it more. Just once in last 14-months since I bought it.

toys-n-yotasParticipanttoys-n-yotasParticipantWakey wakey barn find first gen. Time to be awesome again!
Just took delivery of this truck on Fathers Day, 10-months after leaving a first deposit. Thanks again to an awesome seller, who was ok with an informal payment plan.
Time for the work….scratch that….Time for the adventure to begin.
Ps. Somebody buy the BigRunner!! Sam needs a new/used DD commuter, and I’m out of parking spots. Ahhhh!!
toys-n-yotasParticipantHaven’t gotten out much in last 2-years (after 2nd daughter born), but riding is my 2nd favourite form of exercise.
Prefer to ride tight/technical single tracks, and NEVER on the road.
Bought this bike as a University student in 2008, barely ever let me down. 2006 Devinci Remix R1 (Canadian made), crappy forks, Avid disk brakes, and a whole lotta scrapes and scratches.
