I thought you might turn the exhaust to come out behind the tire – this would give you a little more clearance back towards the bumper.
Before I put my high clearance (at least higher than stock) I used to drag the bumper on everything…
I have steel cable on mine and was just going to use that until it wore out. Amazon seems to have some good deals – Ranger synthetic 3/8 x 85′, 20,500lbs for $99.
A bunch of guys on TacomaWorld use synthetic cable and I’ve seen it in action, but not sure what brands…

I’ve got her out now that the warm weather is here – took her to a wedding in Elora on Saturday. Very nice drive and a beautiful day! Think I’ll keep her out now, unless it snows again.

I set up my shrine to the guitar gods in the basement:

Had to cut the bed rails to accommodate the locking pins. New rails would have been another $500!!!
Got it installed tonight. If you look at the bottom right corner, you can see the puddle where I spilled my beer…. not a happy moment!
2 mods for the new Taco:
1) Bought a tonneau cover from a guy at (former) work. Will post up some pics once I have it installed.
2) Best mod ever – paid it off!

Love the 3rd gen pickup! I had a 94 and loved it!
I sprayed off the front rims and put some air in the left front tire (forgot it had a slow leak). Vibe is pretty much gone now, but can still see the steering wheel shake a tiny bit occasionally. That’ll do for now… Got a major kitchen reno that I will be starting soon.
