KeymasterYup I know that VW pattern. I drove a 5-spd Cabrio (convertible golf) for a few years and damn near grenaded the trans trying to rock between 1st/Rev unstucking myself from a ditch haha. Good times. Hated that car, but with 320,000km on the odo, I sold it and got into my first Toyota. Also learned how to drive manual in that car.
Glad your drivers seat reposition worked out well too!

KeymasterThanks Steve, noted dual 9” pullers.
I’ve got no overheating troubles cruisin’ or haulin’ ass, as plenty of turbulent air gets rammed through the rad, but as soon as Redee’s flying brick shape slows down to 30km/h or less, the fan just can’t pull enough air.
I think the key combination of factors is the old mystery fan, and an excess of “stuff” blocking the rad; trans cooler, SmittyBilt bumper, frame cross member.
I’m torn between simply replacing what I have with a new fan, vs ordering the lot and chippin’ away at the install without waiting on UPS man again.
$80 will replace my current 16” with a new one.
+$90 will add dual 9” and an install kit.Still leakin ATF from PS gear. Still bumperless out back. Windshield still leaking from the A-piller hole. My to-do list is going the wrong way haha. Glad this is still fun.

KeymasterThat sounds like an awesome birthday cruise! Windows down, good food, and M with you.
Wow, huge difference on that passenger seat. Figure you get 4-6” out of your mod?
What’s a PKB bolt?
What makes the trans tricky? No synchros? Wierd pattern? Heavy clutch?

KeymasterNice find on the valve stem, cheap fix other than remounting the tire.

KeymasterOver a week without any wrenching, but my mind has been working.
Redee runs hot offroad, 225 F even while not workin’ all that hard. I suspect my e-fan is under performing.
I’ve been pondering and have come up with a couple solutions. One idea involves replacing the current 16” e-fan of unknown age & origin, with a new 16” e-fan. The other idea involves adding a 9” single/dual e-fan, on the pull side, in the bottom corner that doesn’t get much airflow at any speed.

KeymasterSounds like a great way to spend the day! Tomorrow is my daughters birthday, gonna be a crazy day.
Back to topic…
3.50:1 and a locker eh?? Is the current diff ratio in the 3s, or a nice cruising set of 2.73s?toys-n-yotas
KeymasterJust the pair of Connies and the Ninja in the stable?
I missed out on a couple more kijiji bikes recently. Other Buyers are too fast now that most people are at home. Got my eyes set on a KLx650R that doesn’t run, but is complete and ran last year.

KeymasterI think a Happy Birthday! is in order if I read between the lines right.

KeymasterHaha thanks Kev. I need a little public shaming for those rotors. I knew they were less than good about 15,000km ago, but still no excuse. I should had them turned them when I put pads in, or just tossed them into scrap then.
Steve that priority list is what got me in trouble here haha. Redee also needed a brake job Jan 2019, and was in MUCH worse shape. (Pic of Redee’s brakes to justify my procrastination).
Talked to Matt today, his 4th gen is still braking like a champ, and no fluid loss since I tightened up the hard line to flex line union a few days ago.

KeymasterHope you used $3 to grab a lottery ticket, that’s an awesome day in the shop!

KeymasterSweet setup in the back field. My daughter has been asking to tent camp in the backyard since the snow disappeared a couple weeks ago. I’m still sitting at a firm NO, and feeling her wrath accordingly haha

KeymasterI figured there were fancy ways about it, but you pulled off a damn clean cut.
Any buyers or tire kickers this weekend?toys-n-yotas
KeymasterThat’s one massive blower on there! Two carbs, must be quite familiar with where closest provider of 91 octane is at all times haha.
Did/does your car have a rumble seat? Assumed it was a 2-door coupe, but I can’t even find a trunk seam in your recent pics. I gotta see the car in person, should Covid release her grip on social gatherings haha.

KeymasterHoly full sized spare batman! Did you need a step ladder, or chain fall to hoist that beast up there?
I was nearly crushed to death slinging a 36” into the back of the BigRunner. Having to align bolt holes that high up woulda gotten the best of me haha.toys-n-yotas
KeymasterThat’s one sweet ride Steve. Glad it found a spot in the stable amongst the bikes.
I bet the same penny-counting wife was glad to see that car go.
I’ve been tracking Redee’s expenses, moreso to keep part numbers in check. T100 brakes, chev motor, gotta keep the numbers for spare parts when I need it. Already used my tracker to replace an Alt belt I snapped.
Can’t believe your MTO still has old-style Ontario plates.
Excited to see what plans you have drumming up for Orange Crusher
