ParticipantThanks guys! It’s a BC truck, and honestly we had it up on the hoist today for a safety and it looked really really good, I’m happy Overall. It’s much better than I thought for what I paid. It passed safety today and got an appraisal so it’s all good to go. I put a rock auto order last night, spark plugs, rear power stop brakes, valve cover gasket. I have a solid 3 grand to put into and more once I sell my camper, and a bunch of tires and spare parts etc.
First step is going to be rear brakes and getting a lift in it. Probably gonna go with old man emu, a 2.5” to start

ParticipantWith the new owner he’s been keeping in contact with me so maybe he’ll start a thread on here. I bought a new project today so I’ll post pics in a new thread!

ParticipantThanks guys! Slick knows what’s up, unlike most people I have the space to keep stuff I just need the money to build something else.
As for now I’m thibkinf An overland style build, 4 door Tacoma or an 80 series I think. To start I’ll probably build a swing out tire carrier for it because I had a lot of fun building the one on my 4runner. Just armor winch etc would be great to start

ParticipantVery bittersweet, I sold my 4runner yesterday, instant sellers remorse. A guy named Tommy bought it from St. Catharines, super cool dude.
I Definitely know it’s going to be one of those vehicles you look back on and regret selling but I’m ready to build/buy something different that’s easier to road trip in and not have to trailer. I said I’d only sell it if I got a certain amount and if it was to the right person, and it was. He works in Hamilton so I’m sure we’ll see the truck around. I told him about the forum and said we’d love it if he keep documenting the work done to it and the wheeling trips.
He picks it up this week so I still have the weekend to enjoy it! But it’s weird, definitely never thought I was going to sell it after all the work and time I put into it, but it’s time for something different, I think we may do a road trip to Moab in November so I gotta find something else hopefully by then.

ParticipantEnd of summer Pilgrammage to Greens Mountain. Such a fantastic trail, my 4runner got a little hot towing my camper back to camp hence the no hood.

ParticipantTook the wife to the beach, it really is the perfect beach cruiser.
Been so occupied this month with work projects, put a new engine in one of my mowers.
Going over the diff in my Powerstroke.
My parents saw this on the way up north and asked me if it was a friend of mine haha. Looks like a friend I’d to have, anyone recognize it?

ParticipantThat’s awesome! Love the stripes what’s the plan with the old truck? One tons and full crawler?

ParticipantWhile I had the top off I figured I should clean up and bed line the bed rails. The top rubs the paint off and then often rust there. I used EZ liner and then I decided to blend it back in and paint it white. Touched up some trail damage too. And I did an oil and filter change. So it should be ready to go for the summer.

ParticipantIs there a better chevy based transmission that would hold up better than a w56? Or do you think the Toyota trans would be fine?

ParticipantHey Slick, Those are my very top-secret steel toe safety flip-flops. Great for chunks of flying sheet metal and grinder discs.
Tom, get those tube doors on there and have some fun with the girls!!! I like the half door actually. I’m driving right now with the top off which I’ve actually never done in any of my 4runners.

ParticipantI’ll have to fiberglass fill the door handle indent too but done more or less

ParticipantOne wheeling trip planned end of August. So much of this summer is a write off, just so busy. Have a couple cottage trips planned for the quad but probably won’t take the Runner. Started messing around this morning with some half doors. Going to put in some cup holders. Too and figure out a way to run some side mirrors. Apparently I cut just the right amount out because I was able to use all factory sheet metal.

ParticipantSweet nice to see you’re getting in some wrench time.

ParticipantLost about 4/5 I hooked into, I didn’t bring my baitcaster and braid, so I had like 10lb test and a steel leader.
