KeymasterJust in case you notice a light out, I had to unhook it to run the wire through the plastic….
Slick_Yota
KeymasterStarted in the garage yesterday prepping to drywall the ceiling. Noticed the lighting was wired like shit, so spent the first day rewiring most of the garage…
Sun came out today, so had to take the 51 to TSC to get some staples and sheathing tape.
Today, we started installing the vapour barrier on the ceiling:

KeymasterNice! I’ve never seen one. Wonder if I could get a turbo for my ’09 2.7 IL 4 banger?
Slick_Yota
KeymasterMy 51 has dual 9″ fans pulling. It runs 180 no matter how hard or how long I drive, highway or in town. I can also dial it in to increase or decrease operation. I can take a closer look for model etc if you want some details. It also has a nice big aluminum rad.

KeymasterDo you have a CB or is the antenna just for looks like mine?
Slick_Yota
KeymasterNice! LOL, that’s why I love having the steel bumpers. My license plate takes a beating though…

KeymasterPKB is the parking brake. The one in the car (Corolla part) has the front bolt on the left side and rear on the right. The Celica part I got is opposite. Not a big deal, just have to drill 2 new holes.
Awesome day indeed!!!
The TA is kind of like the old Volkswagens that have a worn shifter plate. Reverse is beside first and if you push to the left a little too hard, you don’t feel the stop and it slips into reverse instead of first… The clutch is amazing in this car. So much so, that I can barely drive the Taco when I get in it! lol.
I did the driver’s seat a couple days ago and drove it for the first time today (since it finally stopped snowing). What a difference! When driving, I can comfortably keep my hand on the missus’ leg.

KeymasterI pulled the rim off the bike and brought it in. Cycle One in Woodstock only charged me $6 to change it!
(Mind you, the oil change on the Ninja was $95…). I usually do them myself, but priorities and laziness…
Slick_Yota
KeymasterOil change done on the Ninja, valve stem fixed on the Connie. Ready to roll now… and it’s snowing 🙁
Slick_Yota
KeymasterSigned!
Slick_Yota
KeymasterNeed to do the same to the driver’s side now.
Seat belts didn’t work out. Kept locking up.
PKB bolts are a different configuration and I didn’t feel like messing around with it, as we had to go out later.Although I did mount a skull to the front bumper – can’t remember if I mentioned that…

KeymasterPics of the seat upgrade: before position, during and after. You can see the difference at the door handle.

KeymasterMelissa finally drove the Dodge. She did a great job figuring out the tricky gear box.
While sitting in the passenger seat, I realized the seat is too close to the door – feels like you have to lean to the left, as the door is crowding you… The seat belt (which the PO installed) came out of a Toyota and continuously locks… can’t put up with that!
Being that the e-brake handle also came out of a Toyota, I began searching for seat belts and PKB to replace current parts. Called a number of wreckers to find one that was open and could answer my questions. The U-Pick places all closed. Logel’s helpful, but couldn’t check the yard.
I called Cathcart and dude first told me what I asked him didn’t make sense, so I spoke SLOWER “I need black seat belts and a parking brake handle out of a Toyota”. (I was hoping he meant that you’d never find a Toyota in a wreckers…).
Then he told me Toyotas don’t have black interior!!! Me: “WHAT???? Buddy, I’ve worked for Toyota for 31 years and I’m telling you Toyota makes black interiors!” What a dip-shit! I will never consider going to this place because of this incident…Anyway, I found a guy in Woodstock who was parting out a Celica (WITH A BLACK INTERIOR). I got all 4 seat belts, with buckles and hardware, along with a black leather PKB handle for $25!!!
Last night M and I took the passenger seat out, I welded up an angle iron frame (with metal from finn – thanks dude!) to mount on top of the passenger seat base and overlap 2.5″ toward the centre of the car.
Today’s job will be to drill out the mounting points, paint her up and put all back together. Then I will install the seat belts and PKB handle. Pics to follow:

KeymasterEmail from Omkaar at GunGear:
NEW GUN BANS
Friday May 1st 2020 was a sad day for anyone concerned about Truth, Democracy and Due Process.
The liberal government under the “leadership” of justin trudeau has used the tragedy in Nova Scotia and the reduced parliamentary oversight due to the Covid 19 epidemic to create new laws immediately banning 11 types of firearms, totaling close to 1500 models (details at the end of this email). There is not scientific or rational justification for the measures, it has been implemented using an undemocratic process, it wrongfully targets a minority, its going to cost tax payers billions to implement and enforce and at the end of it there will be no benefit to society.
Over the coming weeks and months, there will be challenges to these new laws and we will work to keep everyone appraised of the developments and actions that can be taken to help reverse these unjust laws.
For now I would like to share the information that we do have and offer some advice on what you right now.
1. The first thing that EVERY firearm owner needs to realize is that we are all in this together, the gun ban groups have already said that this law does not go far enough, so now the the scary “Assault Type” firearms are gone, guess how long before they start looking at “Sniper Rifles” aka any hunting rifle with a scope and then to the next and to the next, this is not stopping here, so whether you own one of the firearms affected or not, you still have a bone in this.
Heck as long as you care about Canada and our democracy, you should be pissed that the government is using OICs to pass such sweeping legislation and lying to justify it.2. Everyone needs to get a membership to the
Canadian Shooting Sports Association
and/or the
CCFR – Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights
These are the two primary groups that I can endorse, that will be tackling these laws from a legislative point of view as well as a public education campaign, these efforts cost money and our reluctance to donate the equivalent of 1 box of good hunting ammo per year to these groups is why we are now having to play catch up.3. Call your MP, be calm, be polite, but let them know that their constituents care about this. Find your MP contact info here MPs by Constituency
4. Educate the people around you. Do not be vitriolic, most people feel the way they do because they don’t know the about firearms law. We need to win public support by pointing out:
How safe our system already is,
How wrong it is to use an undemocratic process to pass laws,
How this law will cost billions to implement and enforce,
How wrong it is to criminalize legal gun owners
How this law would not affect public safety5. Finally for those who own any of the firearms now banned.
DO NOT TAKE ANY ACTIONS ON THE BAN.
There is a two year amnesty that gives you time to try to retain your legally purchased property. We will update you on that as the legal challenges get underway. For right now, continue to safely store your firearms at home. Do not take to the range.List of Firearms newly banned in Canada:
M16, AR-10, AR-15 rifles and M4 carbine
Ruger Mini-14 rifle
US Rifle M14
Vz58 rifle and CZ858 rifle
Robinson Armament XCR rifle
CZ Scorpion EVO 3 carbine and pistol
Beretta Cx4 Storm carbine
SIG Sauer SIG MCX and SIG Sauer SIG MPX carbines and pistols
Swiss Arms Classic Green and Four Seasons series rifles
Firearms capable pf producing more that 10Kj muzzle energy (e.g. 50 BMG)
Firearms with a barrel diameter more than 20mm.Stay safe,
