Slick_YotaKeymaster
Stopped working again…. guess I’ll have to do something about it.
Slick_YotaKeymasterWell, I started the car to move it out of the garage and the fuel gauge was working! I didn’t even do anything, other than wiggle the wires back at the tank…. Whatever, chalked it up as a win and put everything back together after taping up the bare wires I found.
Slick_YotaKeymasterUnfortunately there is a high potential of that. I’m hoping to find a loose wire had let go…
Slick_YotaKeymasterUsually the e-brake stops working all together when it gets to that point. When you go to release, the handle goes in, but the cable stays put… Isn’t redee automatic? You don’t need that thing, except to pass safety.
I replaced both e-brake cables on my 09 Taco back in 2013. They both had casing broken at the drum from the stress of the lift and heave wheeling back then… Not a bad job at all.
For me to do it leisurely in my garage;
1) less than half the dealer book time for a mechanic to do it
2) only $300 in parts as compared to dealer estimate of >$1000
3) I found the almost non-existent brake shoes they didn’t tell me about…Slick_YotaKeymasterThe fuel gauge stopped working Saturday. Checking for loose wires, I found 2 bare wires in the trunk (had to crawl in from behind the seats)… Connections at the fuel tank are ok. Haven’t had time to check what these wires affect yet – hopefully it’s that simple.
Slick_YotaKeymasterD’oh!!!
Slick_YotaKeymasterWhat are you hoping to get for that little tent trailer? You can PM me with some deets.
Slick_YotaKeymasterIt’s about 3/4 done now, after 2 days solo. The ceilings are 11′ high, so the lift was the only option.
I’ve done a lot of ceilings with just 2×4 “T” braces, but after 1 time renting a hoist I knew I needed one!
Once the garage is done, I only have a small portion of the basement left to finish. I guess I’ll either sell it or rent it out (likely the latter).
I was dying to take the car for a rip today, but kept at the garage… supposed to rain tomorrow, so I should be able to finish hanging the sheets.
Slick_YotaKeymasterIf you install an adjustable (can’t remember the name) rheostat(?), like my 51 has you can adjust if the temp is running too hot.
Slick_YotaKeymasterHave you tested the thermostat? You’re up to 30 pages now and I don’t want to go back and look – lol.
Those dual 9’s pulling should do the trick.
Slick_YotaKeymasterFound a puddle of coolant on the garage floor today when I moved the Dodge back after drywalling 16’ of the front.
Coming from the upper road hose clamp. Moved the 1 clamp up to the rad and put another on right in front of the spool.
Tightened up all the other clamps while I was at it.

Slick_YotaKeymasterIs the rad the stock Yota rad or changes to Chevy with the engine swap?
Slick_YotaKeymasterThanks Tom. I didn’t get before/after of the driver’s seat, but now my nose lines up with the steering column.
Slick_YotaKeymasterI might have missed it – what kind of rad do you have in it?
