KeymasterThanks! Just more gas and holding the tank higher to allow gravity to take effect… New tank should be here in the next couple of weeks.
Back to home renos for a bit now…

KeymasterGot the brakes all done on The Tundra. Stops much better now. And the e-brake actually holds the truck on a hill.
Pulled the plugs out of the FrankenConnie and turned her over to blow the fuel out of the cylinders. Put her back together and she fired right up. Luckily no fuel in the crankcase.
Also got the SL started today! It was a good day!

KeymasterI haven’t been trying very hard… Didn’t have it on Kijiji or anything. Just here… A guy on TW enquired because I have 3 trucks.

KeymasterSmell of fuel finally dissipated from the garage yesterday. Took time out to do the rotors, pads and calipers on the Tundra.
Got the fronts changed out and brakes bled, no problem. Got to the rear….. parking brake shoes seized in the rotor drums. And conveniently, the access hole wasn’t lined up with the PKB adjuster! Had to destroy the springs and caps to get it off.
Spring kit is $20 and might as well get the pkb shoes for another $40…. There’s always something to throw a wrench into it.

KeymasterGonna put stock bumpers back on the old girl. Tim is even going to paint his front bumper for me. Seems more people want stock a Tacoma….
I’ll clean up the steel bumpers and sliders and sell them. Going to keep the winch for the 19 Taco – want to put a low profile winch bumper on it.
Slick_Yota
KeymasterThat’s a great idea. I have to drop my bumper to access the winch. At least my bumper isn’t that heavy and I just use the winch to support it from the overhead I beam in my garage.

KeymasterWent out to the garage today and saw there was gas leaking everywhere from the FrankenConnie.
Tried to turn her over and she hydro locked right away.
Pushed her up on the stand for investigation. Hopefully didn’t bend any valves as she only turned half a crank before locking up.
Will remove the plugs and blow the gas out of the cylinders tomorrow to see if she lives.
I had the petcock on prime, which doesn’t need vacuum to dump fuel in the carbs. Fingers crossed!

KeymasterMan, that’s a bummer! At least the engine is light. The engine in my Connie weighs 250 lbs. I bet you find the other seal right after you buy another one… that’s the way my luck works.
Yes Melissa helps! Never had that in my previous life – makes jobs a lot easier having another set of hands!

KeymasterTook FrankenConnie for a few laps around the block today. Did a couple of burnouts 😀
I think it pulls harder than the 87! Might have to do another engine swap!!! lol

KeymasterThanks Evan! Tacotim0321 on TacomaWorld is going to sell me his bumpers.
The wiper linkage was seized. took it apart, cleaned up and lubed. Good as new now!
Slick_Yota
KeymasterThe wiper motor stopped working earlier this week. Cleaned the snow out of the box and puller her in the garage for a look-see.
Also going to do and oil and filter change while she’s in there.
On another note, anyone have or know someone selling stock bumpers for a second gen Tacoma?
Slick_Yota
KeymasterCouldn’t be happier! I guess there was no reason for this one not to run, but very satisfying none the less…
Today I must pay attention to the wiper motor on the 09 Taco, which slowed down and stopped moving without assistance earlier this week…
Slick_Yota
KeymasterIt lives! This is a picture of it running!

KeymasterLOL. I always seem to forget 1 or 2 no brainer things whether ordering parts or reno materials…
Similar to you, I gave up on the home renos once the kitchen was done. Still have to tear out the closet walls in the master and do the floor after that, but with Melissa on days I decided to work in the garage for a while.

KeymasterNice! Those traction boards work pretty well!
