Today I cut into my hood, To install hood louvers. I won’t lie it was pretty nerve wracking. But it’s one of the benefits of owning an older vehicle that You don’t owe money on.
I think it turned out okay and I really hope it lowers the underhood temps. The coolant temp has always stayed happy but the floorboards collect a lot of heat. Guess we’ll find out on the next trip! Finished up the rear inner axle seal and changed the rear diff fluid too

August 21, 2020 at 9:42 pm #209922Toy-YotaParticipantSold my 37s, took a deposit on my 255s and just ordered this set up last night. Pretty pumped even though it was financially irresponsible. Excited to test a new tire though. 315/75r16 Firestone Destination MT2 and the American racing AR201 in bronze with a black lip.

August 24, 2020 at 1:28 pm #209933Toy-YotaParticipantMy wheels are back ordered so I cancelled and ordered from a new site. We Went fishing on grand river last Friday and had a little cook out at the boat launch. And a shot of my buddies buggy from Our last trip. It’s powered by a chevy tracker V6, with Toyota axles.

Buggy looks pretty cool!
August 26, 2020 at 6:11 pm #209951Toy-YotaParticipant50% of the way there. Turns out it’s super hard to get parts right now. Ended up having to get steel wheels, 16×8 pro comps just like I had with those 37s. We’ll see what happens, i had to order from 2 different places so I guess we’ll see if they show up. Excited to get then mounted though.

What tires are you running on the trailer?
August 27, 2020 at 3:33 pm #209960Toy-YotaParticipantI had 3 ordered from amazon. 2 from eBay. They didn’t have stock on amazon so they refunded 2 wheels. Now I have three on the way from 2 different places.
Ordered another one off eBay this morning from Chicago. Which will make 4 hopefully unless they cancel that too. This is crazy.
I’m running The tires and wheel that came with the trailer now, I just painted the wheels black for now.
August 28, 2020 at 11:41 pm #209963Toy-YotaParticipantAnddddd they cancelled that one too. This is absolutely crazy. I found a set in Toronto that I believe are the same, they’re used but a decent deal. I’ll just buy them and at least I’ll be able to wheel.
So I ripped off my fender flare at the front and that revealed a little rust. It’s really hard to put those flares and cladding back on once you remove them, but I didn’t want to let the rust get worse.
So I tore it all off, started sanding and filling holes today. Going to bedline the whole truck a desert tan color, and maybe try to do some stripes in memory of my old truck. We’ll see how it goes. Pics:Attachments:
August 29, 2020 at 1:37 pm #209968Slick_YotaKeymasterBest to get at it early! Should look sweet in that colour!
August 29, 2020 at 5:04 pm #209970toys-n-yotasParticipantWow you jumped in with both feet, looks real clean under there. Way more fasteners than I thought there’d be.
Hope you’re able to get your paint without much delay.August 29, 2020 at 9:36 pm #209971Toy-YotaParticipantDefinitely jumped right in….

August 29, 2020 at 9:41 pm #209976Toy-YotaParticipantI did kinda cheap out, the tinted raptor liner was a lot of money because I need so much product to cover the whole thing. So I got a gallon of ez liner, brushed it on and tomorrow I’m hoping To try to spray over it With an HVLP gun, we’ll see how it goes. I might sand it a bit first.
August 31, 2020 at 10:24 pm #209990Toy-YotaParticipantUpdate: mounted the tires by hand today after a shop quoted 250 to mount and balance. I sanded the paint again to even it out and did another coat. One more tomorrow and it’ll be done. I might try to do some vinyl stripes too, a friend is gonna help
