Stinking guy backed out on me, his dad got wind that he was selling it and made him keep it because they’re gonna “restore it.” It’ll sit and rot away for another 15 years. Oh well…

I looked at this thing for like 5 mins, once I get it back to my house I’ll let you know if they’re worth anything, they’ve been low for a while so maybe there’s damage who knows…

He has to get back to me still agter he finds the ownership and keys.

Sigh… I bought another Jeep today. For someone who hates Jeeps I sure do stumble across a lot of them.

I noticed this CJ around the corner from my place at an old golf course. I went in a couple times and left my phone number. He finally called me back today and said 500 bucks would take it away. It’s got 35×14.5 swampers that seem to hold air and he bought a fiberglass tub from Ohio years ago that looks to be in good shape. Motor doesn’t run currently, has no top, seats are destroyed and the tub is full of water lol. Oh well I’m going to try and flip it or part it out.

At least you’ll get it all fixed! That Holley ECU has got to be pretty old!

    See you tomorrow!

Dumb weather stripping, I finally just taped it up under the door so it doesn’t sag.

Good news: yesterday I got the taillight converter installed but the bad news is I guess the wire taps didn’t work perfectly because the left signal and brake don’t work. So I’ll have to look at it again. More bad news the rear window lift mechanism decided to rust and break in half so I’ll have to try to swap that out somehow. It’s a real pain to get too. For now I might just throw on the half top and not worry about it I dont know. It stays under a cover anyway.

    I like that 4runner actually, I think I’d rather a SBC than a SBF but that’s cool.

its okay from up close it has a couple rough spots on the body and frame. He did finally get it running and it sounded pretty good.

Haven’t been wrenching on Orange Sapphire too much, my good friend bought a J**p YJ with an SBC so we’ve been messing around with that. So far we put an edelbrock intake on and new carb. Drained the oil and 3L of water came out, the rest was sludgey milkshake.

Side note we used my trailer and took his new eco diesel and we were both really impressed with how it towed. In case anyone is interested in one, it did well. That’s about 5500-6000 lbs so a decent haul. The 8 speed works well for keeping you in the powerband on hills.

There’s always something to do, there is something soothing about working on a project though. Whenever I have to fix my work trucks, or a mower it seems like a chore. But it’s fun tinkering on a project vehicle.

A good friend just bought a YJ with a 305 SBC in it, it didn’t run but it’s fun tinkering with it to get it to run.
