ParticipantFinally got the brakes all together, they feel great after bleeding. And I got around to installing these LEDs in the bumper while I was at it. The lights on old toyotas suck.

ParticipantReclaimed wood is tough to find now, I found a bunch of these old deck boards dumped off behind a store in town so I loaded them all up. They were filled with nails though.
Threw these on yesterday, they feel a bit better than the old ones, I couldn’t for the life of me get the caliper to compress enough to get the new pads in though, the old ones had a lot of life so I put them back in. But I think I’ll order new calipers and then use the new pads.

ParticipantPicked up the quad and I love the power steering!
Been busy with work too. I decided to sell the overland storage solution for the 80 I don’t really use it as intended. 400 bucks if anyone’s interested. And I just built this bar out in the back 40 and a new custom fire pitToy-Yota
ParticipantWe don’t have much by way of plans but as soon camping is open again we’ll be gone every weekend. I’m trying To get the 80 ready to go I have drilled and slotted Powerstop Z32 front brakes on the way, so I’m excited To get those one. There’s a clunk coming from the driver side that under braking that I can’t pin point.
We’re anxious to get away once the bugs subside, Especially because I just put a deposit on this, and we’ll be wanting to get out and use it. Going to bracebridge this aft to go check it out.

ParticipantYes sir, sold it early this week and got close to asking price, so that was nice. Did a little wrenching on the 80 today, serviced the front brakes, greased the front driveshaft and fixed an issue with the driver front hub. And did a coolant flush with the Red stuff
Getting it ready for camping, hoping to fix the AC and a couple emissions things.-

ParticipantGoing to try this tent out. It’s a Gazelle, seems well built and really quick to set up and take down. Less than a minute
Toy-Yota
ParticipantI thought I’d have a little more interest in it but not much yet. Oh well I’m sure It’ll sell.
I learned a lot building this one, definitely made mistakes and paid for it when I had to fix them, lots of things that won’t happen again. Experience has been gained for sure. I have around 100 hours into this trailer with my running around and parts shopping etc. So I don’t think I can be as profitable as I’d like to be unless I build them in less hours (ie: two at a time) which I may do for the next one depending on steel prices.Toy-Yota
ParticipantTook some staged pictures this aft after work

ParticipantThanks guys!
The lid is really heavy, it’s sheeted with 1/4 aluminum which is pretty heavy plus the tent, but with the gas struts I think anyone could open it and it stays up on its own.
I think the gas struts are 100 lbs each if I remember correctly.Toy-Yota
ParticipantShe’s done. Let me know what you think. Happy with the overall product I got it all straightened out and it turned out well.
Toy-Yota
ParticipantOh ya, structurally it’s all good, some of the sheet metal got tweaked and the fenders, but I fixed that. The only thing that doesn’t fit proper anymore is the lid. So I’ll see if I can cut and weld that today and get it to fit more loosely in the frame.

ParticipantGalvanizing is done. I won’t do it again though, or at least a trailer like this, the heat from the hot dip screwed up a bunch of stuff and tweaked some of the metal beyond bending it back, and the guys on the forklift dented a bunch of stuff, I was dissappointed.
It looks good thoughToy-Yota
ParticipantA youtuber I really like did a video about his 21’ Tacoma and he really didn’t have many good things to say about it. Which is too bad because I do respect his opinion about vehicles he seems honest and straightforward. Even though we’re all Toyotaguys I think most of us would agree that Toyota needs to step up their game when it comes to technology or they’ll get left behind at least within the offroad market. At this point in time the vehicles marketed for offroad use don’t just have a rear locker, a thin skid plate and 31” tires. They have 4.56s, 33s and front and rear lockers, 8 speed transmissions etc etc etc
Toy-Yota
ParticipantThanks Tom! The Landcruiser locker works a little differently than the 8” elockers. I pulled off the inspection plate and tried to move the locker by hand which I was able to, but it doesn’t stay in the locked position. I don’t think the actuator is getting 12v so I gotta run some tests I get it working right
Toy-Yota
ParticipantTrailer should be back from galvanizing early next week, so I turned attention to the LX fo-fitty, ordered a rear locker actuator from cruiser Wayne and had it shipped. Got it and put it in the same day and the locker is still not actuating. So I need to pull the inspection plate again and see if I can manually engage it. It may just be stuck.
