I did some unmaintained road touring last night. Didn’t even need 4WD. Could have done them in a Corolla. Whatever, still amusing.
here’s my home hardware SST. OD is 2-5/8”. Perfect match for the axle seal. Glued a cap onto it and it was perfect! Prolly didn’t even need the cap.
February 7, 2020 at 11:32 pm #208907Slick_YotaKeymasterAnd I bought this tonight – holy sh!t it’s loud!!!
February 8, 2020 at 2:15 pm #208911Slick_YotaKeymasterMade a nice table out of a sewing machine base and a piece of live edge Walnut.
After breaking a string last night wailing on my guitar for a couple of hours, I put the table to it’s first use today:
Good deal on strings at L&M – 3 pack of hybrid slinkies for $18.25

March 1, 2020 at 11:35 pm #208975Slick_YotaKeymasterI now have a vibration in the steering wheel between 80 and 95Kmph. Goes away at 100 Kmph.
I think it might be a tire out of balance. Going to try rotating tires front to back and see if the vibration moves with the tires tomorrow.
March 2, 2020 at 7:06 am #208977toys-n-yotasParticipantHopefully just a chunk a frozen debris from your little tour the other day.
March 2, 2020 at 5:31 pm #208983Slick_YotaKeymasterAh! Good point – I’ll check that out first. Didn’t even think of that!
One time I took her into the dealer for some warranty work after a winter back roads run. They sent me a picture of the undercarriage and said they’d have to let it melt before they could do anything. They actually took it pretty well… I’ll post the picture if I can find it.
March 2, 2020 at 5:33 pm #208984Slick_YotaKeymasterFound it!
March 3, 2020 at 7:36 am #208988toys-n-yotasParticipantHaha that’s pretty much encased in ice. Glad they could thaw it in their shop, rather than your own. Prolly picked up a few free ponies by the time it thawed out and got on a diet.
I had to chip and thaw truckee cause I got tired of riding bump stops around. Took a couple hundred pounds of snow off the belly, muuuch faster.

March 4, 2020 at 11:38 am #208991Slick_YotaKeymasterI sprayed off the front rims and put some air in the left front tire (forgot it had a slow leak). Vibe is pretty much gone now, but can still see the steering wheel shake a tiny bit occasionally. That’ll do for now… Got a major kitchen reno that I will be starting soon.
March 5, 2020 at 12:01 pm #208997KrezzModeratorJust a bit of ice there haha
March 6, 2020 at 4:11 pm #209010Slick_YotaKeymasterAnother retirement present to me….
This is just a test for multiple pics:
March 6, 2020 at 7:39 pm #209015toys-n-yotasParticipantThat’s a nice guitar Steve, hope you make some time to shred!
