tom, last picture of redee was on a trailer headin’ out of your driveway. are we gonna see it drivin’ into the driveway with plates before sunday morning?
May 2, 2019 at 7:44 pm #208123toys-n-yotasParticipantSoooo good news and bad.
Good news first. Redee got fuel lines and brake lines today from Lake Side Auto, and got a clean bill of health by passing a safety inspection. Got re-registerred as Fit, and plated today.
More good news, the T100 brake swap feels pretty solid under foot. Excited to get some heat into the brakes and get them biting even harder.
Bad news. Redee is still at Lake Side Auto, trouble getting the EFI tuned into a driveable condition. The Holley unit is just POURING fuel into the motor, running way too rich. I fudged that one up by attaching the Holley temp sender to a common ground wire with E-fan. When the fan wouldn’t kick on we grounded the relay, which put the EFI into “super rich because its -50 degrees” mode….then we started tuning. Oooops, sorry guys, my bad. I rectified the wiring, and left. The guys are gonna pick away at tuning tomorrow during the day, but I’m now planning to trailer Redee back home tomorrow night.
I don’t think Redee will make the M&G this year, but Truckee and I sure will.
May 2, 2019 at 8:40 pm #208125finn the kareilian vikingKeymasterall i got was, tuning issues n it won’t be at the m n g. $h!t dude! see ya sunday
May 3, 2019 at 1:31 pm #208127toys-n-yotasParticipantIt miiight be at M&G. My buddy is working on tuning today. If they get it nailed down I’ll attempt the drive.
Either way I will be at M&G.
May 3, 2019 at 6:17 pm #208128finn the kareilian vikingKeymastermay the mechanical deities be with you. you’ve got tomorrow to test n tune. i want to see burnout pics!!!!
May 4, 2019 at 8:22 am #208129toys-n-yotasParticipantThe EFI Gods were not with me. The old Holley kit has bitten the dust, stuck in a limp mode, severely over-fueling to protect the 350.
Soooo Redee is still at the shop, awaiting a brain transplant. A brand new EFI unit is on order, to arrive early next week sometime. With the new unit, I’ll be able to drive Redee home reliably.
May 4, 2019 at 2:30 pm #208130Toy-YotaParticipantAt least you’ll get it all fixed! That Holley ECU has got to be pretty old!
See you tomorrow!

May 4, 2019 at 4:08 pm #208132toys-n-yotasParticipantThat old EFI system is at least 25 year old technology, as it has been installed on Redee since 1994. I know that the new unit will run more efficiently, and hopefully make more power with less fuel. I trust Brian will setup Redee right, and I’ll be cruising the back roads in no time.
Lookin’ forward to the M&G tomorrow.

May 10, 2019 at 5:16 pm #208162toys-n-yotasParticipantCalled my buddy Brian @ Lake Side Auto for an update on Redee. The new FiTech EFI unit arrived from Vancouver late Thursday afternoon, so he should be calling me Monday or Tuesday to come drive Redee home. Too excited! Can’t. Wait. Patiently. Any. Longer! Ahhhh!!!
May 12, 2019 at 4:51 pm #208165Slick_YotaKeymasterThat’s great news!
May 13, 2019 at 7:09 pm #208173finn the kareilian vikingKeymasterso, what’s the word tom?
May 14, 2019 at 5:14 pm #208176toys-n-yotasParticipantOne more sleep.
Buddy had a hoist go down two weeks ago, and it’s slowing them down. 1-year old machine isn’t being covered under warranty….disputing is taking more time than expected.
May 17, 2019 at 12:30 pm #208193toys-n-yotasParticipantFiTech EFI installed. But the long weekend has already interfered. My wife is working so I can’t get a ride to the shop….and my neighbour is using his trailer, so I can’t tow Redee home either.
Tuesday can’t come quickly enough.
May 17, 2019 at 9:39 pm #208194toys-n-yotasParticipantRedee is home!!! Maiden voyage was pleasantly uneventful, and I still had gas in the tank when I got home. A few quirks, noises and vibrations, but nothing capable of wiping the grin off my face.
Stage 1: Complete.
May 18, 2019 at 11:15 am #208195Slick_YotaKeymasterCongrats! Can’t wait to see this rig sometime!
