    Good morning toys-n-yotas.

We left Thursday at noon. Made it to Wawa the first night. Brandon MB the second. Canmore AB the third. Drove an average of 13 hours per day. Met my daughter & her boyfriend in Canmore and had a nicely leisurely 5.5 hour drive through the mountains to Kelowna on the fourth with the entire brood. That last drive is highly recommended & I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Spent three nights in BC with the kids and then headed back with the Datsuns. Ernie (the 80 Series LC) ran like a champ.

The drift truck idea started as a joke but is quickly gaining momentum. The parts truck is in much better shape than what was expected so I joked about putting a VW V10 TDI twin turbo in it (I have one). . . but was then offered an Audi S4 powertrain.

It’s not high on my list of projects but …… it’ll probably happen one day.

No problem Slick – I completely understand the memory thing. . . .

Like to see the kijiji ad. . . gonna hunt for it now.

I bought the Aqualu Cruiser – aka Rocky – with the tub already done. It needed some cosmetic loving (new paint) and I just added the power steering so that I can enjoy the modern conveniences.

It’s been a 45 year obsession with collecting. Started in the 80’s and just plugged along. Nobody was thinking of these things back then.

Hans & Schleppie. A couple of my current barn trucks. Hans (the red one) is a 1975 FJ40 from Australia. My brother in laws friend called him as he saw it coming in & thought it was too good to scrap. My BIL immediately drove down to pick it up.

Schleppie hasn’t been looked at at all. My nephew found it & another FJ40 in a fence row. The other one is in rougher shape and is parked outside.

Pumpkin. My mistress. The first one. Started as a 1972 gasser with a 3 speed. Now has a turbo diesel, 5 speed, coils, four link up front, three link out back and ….it’s been altered almost as much as a Kardashian. But a lot less plastic.

Rocky. 1982 BJ42. Almost bone stock. Has an Aqualu tub and I added Toyota power steering because I’m getting old.

Hey Slick. I’m not really new. . . . been here for a few months but get easily away from the keyboard.

I’ve posted pics of my Cruisers before – I have several. But for those shut ins playing the home game, here’s the roster.

Bert. A BJ42 with turbo & intercooler. Gozzard tub. Air everything (lockers and suspension. Has been under the knife for the past 4.5 years. It’ll be a real shitty on road truck as the 4.89 gears aren’t highway friendly.

    Carl. A 1967 FJ45. Has a 454 under the hood.

And the possible drift truck. I was offered an Audi S4 engine that I can use.

Not really my scene / style but……..

Hey folks. Hope everyone is trying to stay safe.

Just wanted to show you the new addition(s) to the fleet.

I was getting my son’s 1982 Datsun ready to get back on the road after a 12 year hibernation. Found out the engine was completely f*cked – seized and a cracked block. Realized that finding a replacement engine (a Z22 with eight spark plugs) is harder to find than:
    1) The Holy Grail
    2) Jimmy Hoffa’s body
    3) An honest politician. Believe me – this is really tough to find.

Thought about dropping in other motors but found out that is a royal PITA. Eventually found someone selling his 1982 Datsun that comes with a boatload of parts (including a parts truck). Only problem is that it’s located in Kelowna BC.

So my son & I went for a drive.

I believe we have cornered the Datsun 4X4 pick up truck market in Ontario now.

FYI – for those of you astute or awake enough to see – that is my 70 series in the background in couple of the pictures. It’s purely a donor truck.

    Hey Toy-Yota.

    Pics as requested.

I’ll see how my schedule is for the October run (I’m self employed). It’d be cool to make it.

    I’m in Barrie.

Been a Toyota enthusiast since the 70’s. Started collecting in the 90’s. Had no idea it would lead to this.

I’ll watch for upcoming events. Completely understand that 2020 has been a crappy year. I hope to head up to Parry Sound, Haliburton or Madawaska this fall to do some ATVing.
